I’ve definitely been doing that, thanks for sharing!
On a separate note, do you think this only applies among peers? I’ve noticed that when someone more senior uses those kinds of openings, they actually come across as more thoughtful or even appreciated.
My boss does it often, and I find it makes me feel more comfortable and heard.
By the sound of it, seniors do it because they also fail to personalise the opener based on their knowledge of your current situation. 😅 We are all guilty as charged.
Very timely post with AI cold emails and unprecedented spam being the new normal. It's hard to personalize messages, but I guess that's what it takes to get the attention of your receipients.
Well not doing that anymore, haha! Thanks for sharing

It’s my go to as well. I’ll have to do so research on that next!
Hoo boy 😬😂 Thank you for the tips, this hit me a lot than it should have ! Haha
I like how you cut through the fluff and get straight to the point about email openers. Your advice on making the first line count is spot on!
Currently writing an email to a master program coordinator and I want to test out being memorable so I’m just going to go straight to the point.
Ooh, let me know how it goes!
