Fascinating article. If we could just get democracy going a little coupled with removal of that childish profit motive thing, we'll have the job cooked and served in no time 🤓

The alternative, as noted in the feature, is China’s all in model. But would you want to live there?

If I were Chinese, I might. There’s probably a Chinese national saying exactly the same thing about the UK as we speak. We are very different cultures. Whilst I’ve lived and worked in the Far East, I’m basically a Hykeham lad. On the subject of democracy, specifically, at least China is honest. The British are told they live in a democracy to the point they believe it. No doubt you’re familiar with Chomsky’s Propaganda Model.

One book I think you'll enjoy Sean is Butler to the World by Oliver Bullough.

Thank you. Is it likely to send me into a tailspin, again, after only recently reading another Chomsky, The Panama Papers and BBC: Brainwashing Britain, Daniel? 😁

You wouldn’t believe it! Just finished reading Friedrich Nietzsche’s ‘ This Spake Zarathustra’ and dipped into my Audible library for something a little more lighthearted. I spotted what I thought, from the small thumbnail, was the Robert Louis Stephenson classic ‘Treasure Island’. When I clicked play, I realised it was actually this: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/10197857
